This is a listing for an LS650 with only 29 miles on it. The header pipe is really blue......How on earth did it get this color in 29 miles?

How easy is it to tamper with the odometer? A 2009 with 29 miles and a burnt exhaust? Is this one of those bikes that was owned by an old lady who only rode it to church and the grocery store?

I bought my "new" 2007 S40 six months ago with 60 miles
on it and the pipe was blued just like the one shown above.
I removed the header and muffler assembly and replaced it
with another stock header with a harley dyna muffler.
(I wanted to keep the stock exhaust system intact).
My replacement header has not blued at all after 500 miles.
I think the quality of the chrome plating on my replacement
header is better. I haven't rejetted the carb yet so the pipe
is running just as hot as stock one did.

I bet you are right.....the owners would start the bike up and let it idle to charge the battery and run some fuel through it. It could well be that they intended to learn hwo to ride.....but for some reason it didn't happen.
I bought my bike that was 5 years old and only had 262 miles on it. The woman was dating a biker and learning how to ride.....then when they broke up she stopped riding.

Bike is overly lean from factory, not unexpected. Lancer got the goods to fix that.

A good way to keep miles down is to unscrew this little nut on the top right hand side of the case. It would be by your right ankle. It's a straight knurled round nut with a cable protector sleeve (looks like a shiny spring) around it.
