I just came across this posting on highway bars. I'm new to the forum (2012 S40). Could "WD" or someone elaborate on the HD bar installation. I just bought the HD bar and it looks like it could be a direct bolt-up on the brake pedal side ( at the lower front engine bolt) However, things look a little more complicated on the shifter side, with the kickstand and other "stuff". I also read somewhere on the forum that the acorn nuts on the brake side can and should be replaced with simple self-locking nuts ( nuts w/ lock washers ok?). What about torque specs? All opinions appreciated.
