Let me axe you a question
03/08/13 at 06:16:28

A man angry about being sent away from a New Britain Dunkin' Donuts came back wielding an ax.

According to police, Wilfred Levine, 63, of New Britain, was loitering inside the Dunkin' Donuts at 118 East Main Street on Wednesday afternoon when employees of the restaurant told Levine to leave and escorted him out.

Levine returned a short time later with an ax, police said.

He jumped the counter and said he was looking for the two employees who sent him away, according to police.

Then, Levine began to demolish the inside of the store with the ax before he walked outside and smashed the restaurant's plate glass windows.

According to police, Levine raised his ax at the first officer to arrive at the scene. The officer drew his weapon and ordered Levine to drop the ax. Levine refused, and officers used a stun gun to subdue him.

Levine faces charges of criminal attempt to commit assault, criminal attempt to commit assault on police, criminal mischief, criminal trespass, possession of a dangerous weapon, breach of peace, reckless endangerment and interfering with police.

He is being held on $750,000 bond.

All the windows are boarded up with signs saying they are still open for business.

Yeaaaaaay, gun control is working ... or this fool have come back armed with a semi auto and a 100 round magazine ?

I dunno, someone could have stopped him being armed, but if the fool was not going to obey the cops, you show a gun to the guy and you'd have to have shot him.

Cool.

You only point/aim a gun at what you want to destroy/stop. They are not for intimidation.

Unfortuneately, at 63 he sounds like anger management issues combined perhaps with no job, hence the loitering.  Wanna bet he is a vet??  The sad thing is he will probably spiral further out of control and next time use a gun.  I'm betting he gets less than 5 years and is out in 2 -either in prison of psychiatric facilllity.

Its sad our vets during my generation were fighting basically over nothing. Their only objective was to try to stay alive. Their was no legitimate mission or objective. Time will tell if we have learned our lesson but I dont have a good feeling about it. As long as the rich get richer off of these so called terrorist skirmishes we're doomed.

Learned our lesson? YOu act as if it was all some huge mistake,, The people calling the shots know EXACTLY what theyre doing. The "Unintended consequences" are the GOALS.
Or it wouldnt keep happening,, YOUVE seen its a bad idea as have most others. You think the people who make it to the top are stupider than we are?Theyre evil, thats all.

Having listened to local "news" most of the day, I figured you were going to put up quotes from the hood... Smiley If I have to hear any more drivel from the likes of "Secretia" and "Fe-ma-lee" (that's how it's pronounced, but it's spelled female)...  Grin
