my little project

I posted in the new guy thread a while back, just thought I would post up a progress pic.  Still have a little bit to do yet, but I'm already getting antsy for spring Smiley

Wow!! Thanks for the positive feedback guys.  Considering its my first bike, and first attempt at customizing one, I feel grateful.  Like I said, I got some more ideas of stuff I wanna do, but this is kind of a "budget" project, so, we will see what I can do before spring hits.  Some of the other stuff I'd like to do is tear the wheels down, and paint the hubs and rims black, and leave the spokes chrome; paint the lower forks black, and get black fork gaiters between them and the lower tree; then get some Biltwell Keystone bars in black, and put bar end mirrors and blinkers on them.

Go buy a package or 2 of cheap straws. Slit straws, trim to fit over spokes and spoke nipples. Tape closed. Paint. Remove straws. No wheel dismantling required. Unless you just really want the spoke heads to shine in the painted hub...

So far so good.

I like the straw idea. I think I will leave them on there. Maybe they'll make that neat "Crocidile Dundee" sound when I hit 60 mph.  Grin
