RYCA build - back from paint!
03/02/13 at 15:59:35
Picked up the body parts from SikWerks in Seattle this morning. Colors inspired by the Gulf Porsche in Le Mans - the actual colors used are stock Vespa. Of course it's raining here today so the photos aren't great, but it was nice to roll the bike out of the garage and see what I've been slaving over all winter!

Indeed, the bike has its own personality!

Thank you everyone for the kind words! This was a great project and I'm looking forward to enjoying it this summer. The forum community has been very helpful - many great posts for reference and good response to new inquiries.
Wonder what next winter's project might look like ... I'm hooked now!

Update - it RUNS!!!!
Rough start - tension on the decomp linkage is wrong. Once I disconnected the down rod it fired right up and idled fine. I'll have to tinker with it some more this week.
Such satisfaction - the sound of that engine ...

That paint is slick. You need a matching helmet. Vintage full face, like a Biltwell Gringo or an old Bell Moto 3, with maching stripes would rule.
