Model Designations - What Do the "E" Numbers Mean?
02/21/13 at 18:45:51

Hello all,

Casually riffling through my Suzuki FSM today.  Noticed that, in the tables listing carburetor specs, that several model designations are in use to describe the different variations of our bikes that are sold around the world.

I saw E-02, E-03, E-04, E-17, E-18, E-22, E-25, E-28, E-33, and E-53.

I think that I was able to puzzle out that E-03 refers to the 49-state U.S. version of the bike and that E-33 refers to the California version.  Am I correct here?

And, what do the rest of the numbers refer to?

TIA!
