Rebuild information

It's been a while since I've been on the site. Finished working for a living, now I'm officially retired.
I want to rebuild the motor on my 2000 savage and I'm looking for a DVD
with good instructions. I'm looking to replace the top end. the head had some hairline cracks. I found a good cylinder head. Never did a bike before, but I've done cars and trucks as well as lawn mowers. Any information would be helpful, as well as advice on doing this job.
Now that time allows I hope to be on the site more and and enjoy the knowledge and good natured wit. Thanks for the help.

This is just a big lawnmower ngine,
at least, the top end,
You just wantin to do from the jug & piston up?

Theres a place to send it to have the cylinder coated/treated.
Go fatter on the piston.
Mean cam available.
better carb

The Clymer manual does a pretty good job of spelling it out.
