Thank-You for all the Information and help
02/07/13 at 17:38:16

A special thanks goes out for all the information and help on this site. Project Savage is now complete and ready to ride again. I found this bike on Craigslist for just a few hundred dollars and after finding the parts to complete for just under $200.00 I have a complete bike that runs very good now. Total spent on the project including the purchase of the bike was $650.00 That includes a new battery. Wink

Stock is the only way to go in my book, unless you intend on making her a one off. I bought the bike with a bad motor and was able to rebuild it. My better half wants to learn how to ride this summer, so I thought this would be the perfect project bike to learn on.

I also found that the color of the bike is the same as a Ford Fusion Redfire. Touch up paint was a perfect match

Is your bike a 2006 by any chance? I've been looking for some touch up paint for mine. Color looks the same from your pics. I've got a scratch on my tank that I'd like to fix.

Your bike looks terrific. Nice job.

Nice job.

Nothing wrong with going back to stock, not all of them have to be cut up and turned into something else. They are basically decent little bikes either way. You had enough remaining to do a resto instead of modifying it, I didn't after my stepson's wreck. So mine is now a custom.

Same with my 1963 Honda, too far gone to restore. My friend Doug thinks it is absolutely horrible that I'm building a custom out of a low production (serial number codes out as 1963 bike number 2, but I think it is really bike number 3002) 50 year old Honda. Full 100% resto books out at $3800 dollars, the missing parts are more than that (seat, both fenders and fender cages, air box, one side panel, horn, tool box lid, chain guard, correct wheels, correct handlebar... comes to about 6 grand in parts). Cash outlay for parts how I'm building it? Less than a grand, including the bike (got paid $20 to come pick it up).

Your wife should really like the bike.
