when i go to start my 650, ii hit the start button and nothing happens - no click, no whirr, no nothing. the shifter is in neutral, the clutch is out and the kill switch is closed.
this happened right after i replaced th battery; in doing so, i got a spark between the frame and the positive terminal of the battery. i think the screw from the negative terminal grounded. im wondering if this seemingly innocuous event may have fried something electronic. any info on what to do now appreciated.
the fuses appear to be good.
mine is a 2007 year model.

thanks for the feedback. it really did spark - i installed the battery in its box, connected the negative terminal (out of proper sequence) and managed to get a spark to arc between the positive terminal, screwdriver blade, and frame. spark freaked me out a bit. the battery had just been recharged at home, so IF there is no problem with the battery, where to look? i mean, the way it is, the starter doesn't even make a half-hearted growl; a growl would indicate a partially discharged battery.. headlights and neutral light come on okay. i's just a-scared its something electronic and horribly expensive and beyond me limited abilities.
i guess what i'm asking is: what would have been fried by the kind of short circuit i am describing?

also - would a low battery cause the "no click no whirr" response?
