Not until pretty recently have I worn hearing aids, both ears. I was born with a profound hearing loss, but for whatever reasons, my parents didn't do anything about it. I knew no difference, but now I can see why some people, teachers even, both grade and high school labeled me with negativity, as they assumed I just didn't want to pay attention, etc....

Anyway, last November I bought a really nice set at my wife's NAGGING...  

Boy howdy, I love them, but too, some times it nice to "turn the noise" off. I'm so use to wearing them already I almost wore them into the shower!
Today I forgot to take them off before I ride. My helmet fits tight, and when I pull it off, it yanks them out, so....I just left them in as I was running late and had to catch the ferry. I have never heard our bike at real noise level before....goodness, she burps, farts, thumps, and talks like a savage, I loved it.....  

Same here I love the sound of a big single!!!!  

Glad you got the chance to enjoy it Ray. There's nothing else quite like the sound of a big single.
