I went out to ride to work this morning and this was just sitting on the left of the starter on the engine. ...covered in oil.....what is it?

never seen it before, but would suspect it holds the knurled nuts on the speedo cable.

I can't gauge the size that well, but it looks like the crush washer from a spark plug? Huh

I'm not sure, but it looks like a washer spark plugs...you it had never lost? may there was a long-standing missing? Smiley Huh

I'm with SALB or it's for the oil drain plug, someone set up there and it fell in...it's a crush washer at any rate

Starter,.. or oil drain plug....  if you ain't leaking... apparently, it ain't that important...

It's not a ring from a tarp is it? Maybe the bike was covered up with a tarp at some point and a ring popped out!

compared it a new spark plug.  it was the ring off the one I pulled weeks ago.  guess it feel off and just made its way out.

Looks like a spark plug washer to me, too.

Everybody IS using antisieze on their sparking plugs, right?

Except for those that use a 3/4" drive socket set and breaker bar to remove the plug........with a 3' iron pipe cheater handle Grin

Ha!  I retired cheater pipe & breaker bar when I got this big compressor. My 1/2 IR impact lays down plenty of torque for spark plugs..
