Beware, there are lots of fake/crappy Raptor petcocks on ebay. Get the genuine Yamaha part on www.boats.net like I did after buying the fake part for twice the price - argh!

In Aug of 2011, I ordered two of them (10-5LP-24500-01-00 : FUEL PETCOCK ASSY) from boats.net for $40 shipped.  (about $20 each, including shipping)

They said initially the parts were in stock and would ship immediately.
-- Turned out they were out of stock and didn't ship until two weeks later.
-- It was just short of a month from Paypal-ing the money to arrival of the petcocks.
-- They did not tell me there would be a delay.  I had to find out myself.  I called after three weeks of waiting to find out what was happening.
-- That's my only gripe.  Otherwise things worked out okay.

I also ordered from boats.net with bad experience.
After 8 weeks, they said that part was returned as unclaimed... yeah I waited surely 8 weeks and asked for the part 3 times and then did not pick it up.... so I must re-order.. I just hope that the reshipment really arrives...  Cheesy

For the simple reason that they are not produced in large quantities. I suspect the TOTAL sales of all bikes and scooters together can't match the numbers of, say, Ford F-150 pickups in any given model year.

Yea, Jerry,, I KNow that part, but even knowing that the economy of scale is tilting the wrong way on all this stuff, I still FEEeeeellll like the prices are just kinda Gougy,,ya know? The price on the piston/rings/wrist pin/clips was really more in line with what Id call reasonable. But 18 bukks for a little tube of mesh steel & graphite? Seems a bit much.,

& I dont care if you have a Perfect reason for it being Perfectly reasonable! I dont Care!I just wanna do some gripin here,, Okay? Huh? Izzat gonna be awwrite witchya today?

Well, GOOD,, glad we could get that all cleared up..

The last time I checked from the local Yamaha dealer.....the factory list price is $ 95.85 for the Raptor Petcock!

The online prices are far more affordable.

Yes I would have to agree, My local Yamaha shop can get one for $80 but Ebay is much cheaper for $30.

I'd still check with the local dealer(s)....you might just get lucky.

I paid less than $25 locally for the Raptor petcock, OTD, back in 2009.
