larger exhaust head pipe
12/20/12 at 19:46:28

After searching through the tech articles looking for anything on a larger inside diameter head pipe I found  nothing. As far as a Raask pipe is concerned...I contacted Raask in Sweden and was told to contact their US distributors. There are only two US distributors and I contacted them and was quoted a WHOLESALE price of $595.00!! Does anybody know where to get a larger I.D. head pipe? Don't need mufflers or internal baffles, just a head pipe with the proper flange to connect to the Savage exhaust port.

I found another fabricator who is willing to do a prototype header  using 1 5/8 OD x 1 1/2 ID pipe.  It is in progress now.  I spoke with him just a few days ago and hopefully it will be ready and shipped by the time I get home after Christmas.
I don't have a reliable price range yet but will put that out as soon as I know.
It's amazing how difficult it Is to get someone to do a simple tube.
Personally, I think it is because it is too simple and they cannot make enough compared to a complex custom header for cars.

I had mine custom made with a single sleeve.Been using this for a couple of years now. Be careful you can go too big.
Don't go bigger than 1.6

I'm not sure what size it is, but I'm fairly certain that the RYCA headers are larger than stock. You can contact them for more info, but I believe they are around $350. I'm pretty sure that is for their High pipe; scrambler style...
Lancer is amazing; I'm not knocking him at all; when he gets his done, they will be top-notch, but I wanted to throw that out there...

Really? When I had Trikes if I needed an exhaust I just rock up to a muffler shop tell em what I needed and they'd knock it up in a couple of days usually

Ive never seen anyone make a Muffler,, Ive seen mufflers put in, pipes bent & cut & welded, but MUfflers always came out of a box.

Sorry I should have been a bit clearer. I live just out side Hamilton and the shop I use is Coby exhaust systems. They manufacture mufflers and performance exhausts.
