The lock does a good job at preventing theft, but it doesn't do squat about someone burning your bike to the ground. The perp probably did it out of spite BECAUSE the bike was locked.

Serowbot, you may not be the best person to discuss theft issues since thieves stole the box your bike was chained to and left the bike.
I am really glad they didn't burn it, though.
