Plenty of discussion in previous posts.

Just scan down the Rubber Side Down Subject on the left side of the page and look for battery discussion.

This one was on the 4th page:
http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1354066439

This one was a few pages farther back:
http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1353928477/6#6

Or you can go to the Technical Seciton and look in the Index, and find stuff like this:

There are no lockouts for regular/new members.

If you do not have access, most likely a security/virus setting on your computer... or a compatibility mode.

It's nothing
personal; the other

I can't seem to view the mini-battery mod thread, either.  I don't even see it listed in the Tech section. Weird.  Huh

The last post in the 2nd link had some good info on the mini-bat install I did.  I used the large bracket in front of the swing arm.  The battery has been great, and I've had no issues. Always starts up, even when it's cold.

If you have any questions, you're welcome to PM me. I'd be glad to send any pics if necessary.

There are some links to sellers sites, if you got anti spam it might not let you in... I'll have to try some things... let me know if this thread disappears.

Ok guys, I finally got the Thanksgiving pies baked and that stupid dishwasher installed and most importantly, replaced the battery on my bike with a small one and mounted it on the "shelf" or emissions/muffler mount thingy below the swingarm.

On some other thread I mentioned that the largest battery that would fit there is a Yuasa YTZ7S.  There are smaller batteries of different chemistry that are a little smaller and still provide enough starting amperage, but they cost a fortune.  The Yuasa is also sold for a few bucks less as the Motocross YTZ7S.  Still made in Japan by Yuasa.

Some other things I gathered were the connectors and a boot for the + terminal.  The connectors are for 6 gauge wire which is larger than necessary, but I had to cram a couple extra wires in there for the horn relay.  There is also an extra wire that goes from the negative terminal to the brain box.  I didn't know what kind of boot to get, so I just cut the stock one to match the connector and battery.

A few other supplies are some 3/8" threaded rod, a couple of wingnuts to match, and some 1 3/8"  wide,  1/16" thick metal stock with the 3/8" holes.  I didn't get a picture of the 8 gauge wire or heat shrink insulation, but obviously you need some electical stuff not shown.

I like the idea. I've been trying to figure out something to do with the battery other than sticking it in a saddle bag (somehow that doesn't seem safe to me but to each their own).
Did some searching and found the same battery a few bucks cheaper here: www.tristatebattery.com/product_info.php?products_id=760

I've had A shorai lithium iron going on three years now, no problem  I live in Michigan never take the battery out ever, I do try to start the bike one a month. Its less then 2 lb. so small got it mounted to the exhausted bracket under swing arm and I,am sure it takes a lot of vibes down their bought it from battery stuff.com Was pricey at the time but couldn't  find them any where else this battery has 210 cca ah rate of 14 model    LFX14A2-BS12    oh the battery case is made out of military spec carbon fiber composite what ever that means. I don't run a lot of lights just headlight blinkers tail and brake has ben change over to led's if your going to run a lot of lighting on your bike do your homework some of these small battery's  cant make enough  juice or amps to run them and some of the super small battery's for road racers used for starting the bikes only.

I purchasd a Shorai Lithium Iron battery last fall. It came with a stack of soft plastic parts to fill up the battery box.
I am puzzled why folks would put it in any other location
