I wanted a Cushman Eagle really bad in the 50s but we couldn't afford one. I ended up with a well used 1955 Sears Allstate  Cruisaire made by Vespa in 1958. I have some fond memories of that scooter.

When I restored the 57 Eagle I was a little dissipointed as it wasn't as much fun as I thought it would be.

I sold it to a Baptist minister for $4000.

The Sears Allstate Cruiseaire WAS a Vespa.
I find it odd that Sears insisted on selling European motorcycles with its own brand name, rather than keeping the original manufacturer's.
With all the WW2 veterans in the malls, one would think they would remember the build quality of Puch, DKW, BMW and Zundapp...

Vespas, on the other hand, didn't exist in WW2 .

Can I play too? My last Panhead project, 57 FL engine in a Knuckle EL frame or a VL frame, unknown make Springer. Needed over $24K worth of work to put back in service, gave it back to my friend when I moved. Without having done much to it.

Should have left him the Savage and brought the Pan to TN with me, I still miss it. And still haven't finished the repaint/rewire job on the not so Savage.  Wink
