The reason there is no dipstick is it affords the lucky savage owner the opportunity to ask a cute young thing to help (and yes she should be wearing a lowcut supercleavage top when checking out the sightglass.)  If offers the rider a chance to check out his eyesight simultaneaously.  For all the distaff riders, I'm thinking the hunk of your choice should remove his shirt before straddlling your front wheel - holding the beastie upright while you leasurely  check out the oil level.
