Vibration all over, Part II

I mentioned a vibration coming from the area of my front pulley for a while. Took pics for the whole thing, but can't get them loaded for newbs. Took pulley off without even loosening the rear axle. I use the twist method for checking belt adjustment. Anyway, the pulley is like stairsteps arranged in a circle with plates on each side. Something had bent the inside plate outward nearly a quarter inch, which means toward the engine. It was hitting a raised casting on every revolotion causing a full time vibration. Took a hammer to it and bent it back straight. installed it without loosening belt, but it was a thumb buster. The slack I had when letting off the throttle is in the transmission. There is about 3/8" linear movement in the belt before the slack is out. It runs good and smooth, so I ain't borrowing trouble worrying about the transmission. 2001. 21,500 miles.   Smiley
