I've seen too may bent and broken DNA springers to ever recommend one.

I have generic springer front end plans that could be emailed.  I have not looked to see if theier would be any fitment issues but as they are plans they could be tweaked.

I really think HD and Triumph both are missing the boat on this. But then again, the market dictates, and it seems all the market wants is 2000cc+ V-twins Sad Angry Angry

Here is my take on the girder/springer FE. They are heavy ...
I recomend the srinath method ... use a dirt bike FE and angled triples.
I built one a few years ago ... 9 degree rake ... but I'd easily to a 12 or so, should work great till 12 I think. I may build a 12 and decide it should stay @ 9, or can got till 14 ...

Here is my pics.

Earlier this year I happened to talk with a couple of guys riding Harley springers. From them I gathered that the only reason for having a springer is looks. They said the springers did not handle as well, did not have as much suspension travel, and rode more harshly. But, they sure LOOKED nice. They didn't mention weight, but the way their bikes were dressed out weight was clearly not a consideration.

The owner of my local bike salvage shop (who did not have any springers for sale btw) told me that there was very little difference in performance between a well built and maintained springer and oil. His take was that he'd ridden them both and that a springer rode just as well, differently but not worse. Springers require maintaining bushings while most riders don't do anything with their forks, and that's why a lot of people don't like the springers.

that black springer bike is the nuts
springers are a step too far in the looks vs performance/maintainance hassles compromise for me - but big kudos to anyone that does it, sure catches my eye.
