Well not because I rode in the rain, no.....but walked in it, all the way home from the mall area.
In hindsight I should have stuck to my guns and flatly refused my wife when she pleaded I accompany her shopping, and none of this would have happened.
But I didn't....
When the parking lot was full I knew I was in trouble, only to confirm when we finally found a slot and made it inside. Talk about crowding, mercy, I wondered where all the people came from?
I tagged with her until I could take it no more....
I guess I should have told her I needed some space and quite, but she was quickly glazing over with shop-o-phobia and I reasoned my explanation would be met with no acknowledgement, so, I slinked away to my own accord.
It was a spell but eventually my cell phone rang. I answered it to find my very excited and worried wife quizzing me about us being lost, separated, and all.
I told her I'm not lost, and asked her if she remembers that jewelry store where years ago we found a beautiful necklace....?
"OH YES" she replied, I remember
"Yeah, the one where I told you some day I will return and buy it for you, when I can afford it."
"OH YES, YES DEAR....I've never lost hope of that, I dream of that necklace every Christmas...."
"Well" I exclaim. " I'm sitting in that little bar right across the way from it."
darn rain.......
