Reply #15 - 11/19/12 at 20:50:53 I still think that chain tensioner is close to the limit of the service and its need to check . but if, before the end of the season trips remained only a week, then this test may be postponed to the winter time and is very likely that the idle engine speed is set too high..

I look at mileage on the bike. Once it gets past 15,000 miles, I figure its a hand grenade. Havin a peek any time after 12,000 miles seems reasonable to me, & would be a great time for a Versy. Will a guy get by with running one past 20,000? Maybe, its been done,, BUT,, One Day, the side comes off. Me, personally? Id rather do it before the engine is ruined.,KInda hard riding & enjoying it with that question hanging.
