And also my '02 has some sort of box hanging under the airbox and I see that yours does not, so this may be a stupid question but what is the box for and do I really need it because I like the open look you have there.

Inward-leading sipes will draw water into the tread instead of pushing it outwards. I'd like to see a picture of the "direction" arrow to prove me wrong.
