Lets see now,, take a wide framed, low slung bike & see how it handles in the curves,, No reason for that to not work out nicely, is there? Sorry, ive got no sympathy for his expenses.. if youre riding something like that, its not because you are intending on corner carving, unless youre an EEEEdeyut,,

I concur.   When I had my ultraglide my style of riding was...

a) find a nice offbeat road
b) set cruise control
c) crank up stereo to 100db
d) relish nirvana

The sparks, the foot off the footboard with the leg looking really twisty, catches himself onto his feet, and walks away saying "I MEANT to do that!"

The way he twisted his knee and ankle he's lucky to be walking.  I can't fathom why he took his foot off the board though.

This... I mean that bike was simply not designed for curves. I couldn't tell if it was the board or his fiberglass saddlebag scraping first. Sounded hollow.
But yea, knees don't bend that way. Usually.

Might have made it if he had tried leaning off the bike.
They have an advanced course up here for cruisers that teaches them how to get more from their bikes. Leaning into turns is one of the skills taught.

I've been heard to use that word, too. I wonder how his left elbow is doing...

Since I subscribe to a couple of magazines and HD is coming out with lots of new stuff I read the test results from the mags testers. There are many comments about easy grounding when riding with "spirit" in curves. Not the bikes fault, though. Kinda like riding the Savage in a hill climb. You just don't.

No one takes a yacht to run in an unlimited class race. Its not designed for it. Its just stupid to take a bike, designed for open road cruising & take it canyon carving. That road is plenty safe for a bike like that, but not at "Get a thrill in a corner" speeds. Its a Boat, it needs to be maneuvered thru the obstacles at speeds IT will navigate them at. YOu cant take a boat & just Will it to be a cafe racer for 5 minutes. & Yea, Ill bet that vette owner is a little steamed that he got clobbered by a biker who lost his focus & failed to get his speed down to what that bike would handle in that curve> I wonder how much the crash rate goes up when photogs are there versus when they arent.
