What is your skill set? Everything fits if you have skills and tools. Or lots of money.

I'd ask him if the triple trees come with it. He says "complete" but if there are no trees, it's far from complete and will make any kind of front end swap a LOT more difficult.

If it has the trees with stem then it will mount right to our frame

things of note:
the stops are different, so you'll need to adapt those.
the bars are 7/8 and the mounts are cast into the top tree.

S-o-o-o-o-o . . . . . . Since I have a fully functional GS 850 that I don't particularly like (it's too top heavy and tall for my liking although a dream when it's rolling down the road) I could put the front end on my Sav and have dual front disc brakes, tubeless tire and keep the Vetter Windjammer that's on the GS that matches the luggage I already pulled off the LS and mounted on the 650? Hmmmm . . . . And I just got room cleared in the garage after all summer.

Yes but it will also clobber the tank. NOT @ the bars ... the triples or legs.
2.5" offset ...
If you get a different tank you will have a bike that handles 100 times as light.
Cool.

Twin disk ... a maxim 700 fork set will do that quite well ... I got one on the savage ...
Cool.

I've actually been thinking of using the GS 850 front end for doing a trike. It looks heavy enough for what I have in mind. I want to do something with either and old Pinto sized 4 cyl. or one of the old Rabbit diesels with a 4/5 speed manual. Kind of a three wheeled panel van with a 6' 6"-7' enclosure behind the front seat. Camping, hauling, whatever.

With the diesel 55 mpg or so should be completely doable as that's what I got in my '82 VW pickup. With a gas four cyl. should be able to squeak out at least close to 40 mpg.
