HD Sportster Handlebars
10/18/12 at 17:51:33

I am thinking about changing my buckhorns to something a little wider.

Does anyone know if the following will fit:

Stock Handlebars off 2008 Harley Davidson Nightster, Black.

I think I can get them for $25.  But I do not know if I will need longer cables or risers to avoid hitting the tank.

Does anyone have picts if they have these bars?

Thanx!

Your picts  look great!

The handlebars I am looking at I wished were not black.  I think they might look good against the risers.

By the way the seller of the sportster bars gave the following dimensions:

Bar Diam = 1"
Height - 6"
Width - 32"
Pullback - 10"
Center - 6"
Clamp Area - 2.5"x4.5"

I have a HD handlebar I can measure tomorrow and put it up against the S40 to see if they will clear.  What width are you looking for 28" to 32"?

Thanks for the great picts and info!

I am looking to improve my handling.  My buckhorns pinch my elbows in a bit and I have to roll my elbows up when getting sporty in a turn.

My thought is a little wider will improve my push into a turn...

So 32" would be the way I would like to go.

Does anyone have thoughts on this?

It is a good idea as long as you do not stretch too much in a turn.  On my other bike I went from a 28" to 32" bars and I do have to stretch a little more in a turn but it is manageable.  I am in a more comfortable position while riding. My bars are not buckhorn style but rather more ape hanger style while not being age hangers. They are custom.
