There were pet cancers back when I was growing up- Born in '46.  Mental Retardation existed but was segregated into institutions (where I worked for 20 years).  Many a Down's syndrome baby was dispatched by the Doctor, who informed the mother and father that unfortuneately the child was still born or aspyxiated by the umbllical cord.  Autism seems to be getting bigger, but how many of those folks in DMR/DMH hands in the 50's were actually Aspergers or some other now named syndrome.  Two of my four close friends died of Leukemia.

This is not to argue that modifcations of much of our food may indeed cause mutations in us...I don't know.

Mutts are the best, overbreeding has made some popular breeds very prone to bad hips, sinuses, lungs, defects of all sorts.. I have found the WALK to be THE most important thing in a dogs health, in the wild a dog would walk to hunt, walk to find a mate, and walk to change territory. My pups and I walk two to five miles a day, good for them and me.. This Pug is thriteen years old , she is in great health, proper weight, only one eye, cat got her as a puppy... Their life expectency is low teens..

Now Monsanto is killing our animals too. My cat Byron has scabs, raw spots, crusts, and bumps all over him...vet says it's not cancer but the next thing to it...WTF does that mean?? $800.00 in vet bills and no improvement.
