Remember the LS650 is something of a loss leader. Everything that gets "upgraded" means the MSRP also gets "upgraded." And I expect that, no matter what tires got put on it, there would be the eternal complaining about "those lousy OEM tires."

Unless it does not have a gain in power, increasing the gear ratio of the 5th would not make any sense. The 5th gear is merely for economics (and for reducing noise), it is not a true 5th gear.

Yesterday it had in the specs "Suzuki Fuel injection", today it came back with "MIKUNI BS40, Single"

I saw that, too. I seriously hope the fuel injection thing was some sort of initial marketing gimmick or simply a typo when the webmaster was updating the site for 2013.

I'm ol skool like that. In my opinion the LS650 should always be carbed, but I have to admit that may change later down the road, should Suzuki decide to keep the machine in their lineup for the future.

Usually fuel injection systems do have a small pump in the tank, that's right. It does not need to be very strong and therefore it can be rather tiny. Otherwise the lost capacity could be recovered by slight re-designing of the tank, anyhow. And anyway, they have to get the little pump in it and it should be serviceable. Wink

Another benefit of the EFI system can be enhanced fuel management, at least must be!

I heard that in 2013, all 2 wheelers over a certain displacement must be fuel injected. So far, it seems Suzuki has been mysteriously silent on what their 2013 line up will contain.
