Hey gang got some rain last week and had to don my rain pants on my commute, inadvertently while relaxing on my bike in the ferry line I rubbed a leg against the pipe and melted some of it (rain pants) to the chrome. I thought it would be an easy clean, not so, I tried to remove it while hot, and while cold, nada, you guys got any ideas?  THANXS!

Don't know if it will work,  but crumpled aluminum foil removes rust from chrome. It may remove plastic.

Same happened to me. Got it off with oven cleaner, a plastic scraper, and some patience. Use the oven cleaner on cold pipes and watch the over spray. It took several applications and letting it sit for a few hours.

Good hunting

I had both melted rubber and plastic on my exhaust.  Mine was well cooked because it had been on there for a year and it came off easily with aluminum foil and water.  It had become brittle with time and broke free with little effort.

Faultless Hot Iron Cleaner -
Get an old scrap of terry cloth towel.
Get exhaust REALLY hot (at least a 5 mile ride).
Stop, put goop on towel, scrub the exhaust.  Repeat as needed.
Has always worked for me.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut between the seat and the handlebars. Make sure yours isn't too tight or too loose.
