Re-locating passenger foot pegs.
09/07/12 at 17:59:40

Up here in Ontario it is illegal to carry a passenger if their feet won't reach the foot pegs. I am dying to give my grandson a gentle ride, but his feet won't reach the pegs for a few years. (he is 7). I would appreciate any ideas you smart folks might come up with.

If you don't have saddle bags you could fabricate something that attaches to the side rails.

replace one of the front side rail bolts and get an extra pair of passenger pegs and bolt them up there.

That's not a bad idea...
Quick detachable,.. keep his tootsies out of danger,.. and might look cool...
Sling over like saddlebags, or make a soild u-shaped bracket...

Its either thro over stirrups or blocks on the pegs, thats why I asked how far he is from getting his feet on the pegs.

Rail bolts are not accessible because of the saddle bags, but you did give me the idea of making up a bracket that bolted on to the upper shock mount bolts. Thanks.

Now that is just frigging funny right there. That would actually even work great, given you didn't put anything in there. I would even try that!

I once got got rear ended in my car standing in line at a stop sign. I got hit with about 35mph. The rear bench was pushed right to the front seats and I'm glad that day we didn't take the baby with us, because he would be dead now. Danger is everywhere, not just on a bike.
