Black leather doesn't have to be so hot anymore!

So after coming across a nice looking black leather jacket that has "TFL cool system" which claims to reduce the temperature from sunlight significantly, I started doing some research and found that it did seem to work, and that BMW and Meercedes use this on their dark colored car seats in Europe.  Liking the jacket regardless of it being cooler or not I ordered it!   Cheesy

The jacket-

After getting it I had to do a side by side test of my own, well the results were actually better then I would have imagined  Shocked  The ambient temperature was 88 degrees when I did the test.

The TFL along side a regular black leather jacket-

Under cloud cover there was a decent difference in temperature TFL- 113.7 degrees  Regular black jacket-125.6 degrees

In direct sunlight TFL 149 degrees and the other 187.3 degrees!

I wouldn't mind a leather for winter riding. Where did you get yours? My options are pretty limited as I am a big guy.

Check your local thrift stores for leather jackets. You'd be surprised at the multitude of leather they get. Girls have picked up two or three for me there....cheap. Keep telling them ive got enough and they keep buying...lol
Got another one yesterday that looked AND smelled brand new for 30 bucks.
