Miss fire

Hi all, Ive noticed a problem on hard acceloration, when I get to near max revs the bike just cuts out untill I ease off the gas then it carries on running. I can rev the ass of it in N its just on the move. Prity much as I hit 70 MPH. Ive done all the carb mods and fitted a Harley MUffler.  I dont know how long its been doing it because my wife rides the bike and she rides like a girl Wink Wink
Anyway Ive changed the plug and coil. still the same. Im thinking change the main jet but the bike is already a little rich. any Ideas ??
Thanks

I had a similar problem for alittle while after I went to the Raptor petcock.  Finally one day I pull the fuel line and ran it into a can so I could see what the flow rate was like.  Mine had a severely limited flow,  so I pulled it and took it apart and found out that a roach had taken up residence in my petcock at the warehouse.  Once I removed the bug all was well. Just so ya know it didn't present this problem right away,  took it a few weeks before it got bloated enough to impede the flow.

Thanks but done that, flow is good. I took it up to 7 MPH today nice and even. Just touched 70 and just cut out then started aga in as I slow. If I keep the throttel where it is it stops , starts, stops starts. The choke no efet.

Well....perhaps the vent is plugged on your fuel tank and creating a vacuum.  You could try taking the fuel hose off and running the fuel into a container.....and see if the fuel flow slows down after a bit. You could also try running with the rubber seal on the fuel cap removed.....if you do so carefully so the fuel doesn't splash out around the cap.

You should also check the flow out of your float bowl - put a hose on the drain and open up the screw - and see if the flow is steady and at a good rate.  If there is some obstruction in the fuel hose or needle and seat you may have a flow problem.

Okay, if 70 MPH does that in 5th, then, theres 4th gear & IDK what the RPM is at 70 in 5th, but Id get that figured out & go to 4th & run it to the same RPM & hold it. If its the Main Brain, surely itll show up there..

Youve already done the plug & coil,, Sure would be handy if we had a spare part or 2 to ship between folks here for T/shooting.

Ya know, Id go to the left side & pull the side tin & pull the connector off that module, have a look, maybe run an eraser across it, make sure its plugged in good. Theres a connector under the tank that has been known to work loose. One guy came to a halt in his driveway, pulled the tank & the connector was just barely still together.,.

What happens if you dont let it warm up all the way & you run it up to 70 just as fast as ya can?

Can you get to 70 in 4th?

Im trying to figure out if its RPM or Speed or HP output/ 5th gear & 70 MPH works the clutch harder than accelerating thru the gears at lower speeds. Clutches slipping show up in the higher gears, so that when the most HP is being put thru it,
Now, WHY would that make the Iggy blink out? Dangfino,,just digging for data..

It seems to be a rev problem 4th is about 60 before it happens 3rd 50 etc. As I said in Neutral I can rev the nuts off it with no problem. I take your point about the moduel. Ill look tonight.
Cheers
