Remote Turn signal indicators
08/30/12 at 06:53:23

I put 2 red led's on my mirrors and hooked them up to the turn signal wires in the head light. You have to cover the led's with a piece of a black hose big enough to fit over the led and just see the top of the led so you can see them in the daylight. Since I'm always looking in my mirrors they remind me to turn off turn signals. Also I am trying to make it a habit to turn them off right after turning.

You have to put the url in between that code. You need to type something like this:
Code:
 [img]http://cavimike.com/battery01.JPG[/img]

And you'll end up with this:

As you can see I have them duct taped on right now. Am trying to come up with a way to clip them on.

Way to go. Best idea I have seen in a while. Let us know what you work out for mounting. Wondering if anyone make a LED light or small strip with an adhesive back?

Yep just take a look at Ebay or just about any of the LED wholesalers.  There are lots of self adhesive led strip lights out there.

Here is one with just a really quick search.

Great ideas. I like the ones that Blinky saw: http://www.amazon.com/Amber-Mirror-Signals-Blinkers-Indicators/dp/B003V5T87W/...  Thing I don't like about it is they would block some of the vision in your mirrors although I do turn my head anyway when changing lanes etc  I may just use some Velcro.

Velcro did not work. So I used hose clamps. Works for me.

That's me! MR. TACHY!  Don't like beepers, man. Still working on better way to mount them. Still works good enough for this old fart for now anyway!

Get yourself a diamond drill bit the size you need and drill a hole in the glass, snap 'em in, and your good to go.
If I were to do it I would mount them into the windshield. Run the wires down the sides under door edge molding.

Sorry. No holes in the windshield for me. This is it for me:  If anybody wants to improve it or whatever, you are welcome to it. Could get rid of the extra sticking out from under clamp I guess. Like it or not. TS

Could you incorporate this into the turn signal circuit? It might clean up the mounting. Its battery powered, would the signal circuit be to much?
