If your battery is dead... no. gotta have at least 10v to energize the ig system.

next, if it stopped on compression stock... all your gonna get is a skid to a stop. My technique is to bump the bike forward (not backward) until you can operate the decomp lever by hand. If you go backward on a pre'95... you'll bust out the starter gear.

That or get em to cut loose some of them high mileage carbs the auto/oil industry bought the patents up on over the years.
