Hrm. When I did the leak down there was no blow by coming out of the crankcase through the oil fill hole. The valves were tighter than I had last left them. .001-.002" area. Readjusted to .006 just to keep it loose. Still blowing smoke. Took the exhaust off and my runners are soaked in oil. Wiped it down, fired it up, watched it, shut it down. Oil is on the ceiling of the runners which means it's being ejected from the cylinder. Broke it all down and I'm going to assume I washed down the rings with too much fuel. Cylinder is borked and piston is a paper weight. If that's not fully the case then I believe I had insufficient oil pressure while I was trying to dial in that VM36 with the short little starts and stops which contributed to wear which led to this wash down related failure. Either way this cylinder isn't going to hone out with .020".
Edit: Or detonation. It's only on the skirt though and not on the face. Lands don't look cooked. A local shop has my jug now. They are going to bore it as much as they have to for it to clean, tell me what size piston I'd need, then I'll hand them my .020 over or buy another piston, hone to suit, and slap it together.
