Hey guys,

My drive belt snapped and causing my friend to take a spill on my savage, bending up the pegs good.

I'm lookin to spend ~$50 on the belt and ~$40 for a set of pegs

How many miles on the belt when it went?  Did it give you any visual cues beforehand (deep cracks, etc)?

TIA!

its a '96 belt with about 50k miles. Now that I've paid attention, it's got deep cracks sideways cracks down the whole thing.

In college I was a competitive archer.
The hot ticket at the time was kevlar bow strings.
extra zip, low life.
A well made string lasted 1000 shots, give or take a few.
when these strings went, the arrow went in the 10 and the ends landed on the ground in front of you.

My point is, they break with flexure.  Our belts don't typically do that.

other option might be contamination thru the cracks.  if you have them, might be a good idea to seal the belt with wax.  keep it from chirping too.

Just posted in RSD about D-Z Customs on ebay. Some pre-drilled ISO-type pegs available, but I think they are north of $40.
