Another exhuast question

By adding a 30" tailpipe to my Thrush muffler, will that create any additional back pressure or change the sound?

Backpressure, no. Sound, yes. Any change to the exhaust is going to change its sound.

From what I've been reading, the longer your exhaust is, the lower and deeper the tone will be.
Based on that, I'd give it a try. 30" extra should make a big difference I would think. Even 15" is a lot of tailpipe, and that should be enough to mellow it out.

Cool! I am hoping to get it done this week!

Some local ordinances require red flags on items that stick out very far behind the back of the vehicle.

IIRC here in TX anything sticking more then 10" out past the vehicles rear needs a red flag or light on it.

I have one of the Emgo mufflers that Ryca sells the 26" one and it goes just past the brake adjuster so with a thrush muffler plus a 30" extension you will be well past the rear of your bike.

I am going to have it upswept. It will end just past the plate. 30" is a rough guess. It will probably be closer to 26 or 27 inches. Besides, I have cool flame on decel. Doesn't that count as a flag?  Huh
