Sealer as in silicone - usually its not much of an issue, however the savage oil passage goes through the wall of the right side case. If you "close" that with errant sealant, you wont get oil to the head. I've used sealant on many bikes and cars, and ironicaly my chrysler lebaron transmission leaks the least oil with only silicone and no gasket. I use permatex purple stuff on everything, even had some on my cereal this morning. Carbs, engine covers, everything has it. However that isn't silicone, its more like gasket glue. It stays liquid, never hardens. Cool. Srinath.
