Jetting and a bog just off idle

With a 52.5 pilot jet, anything less than 1.5 turns in and idle slows down. Choke works like it should

With a 55 pilot jet anything more than 2.5 turns out and idle gets bad.  Choke floods the bike.

So should I run one or the other?

I also have another issue with BOTH jets. If I ride at a very slow idle and just give the throttle the slightest twist, the engine bogs (not lugging... bogging and hesitating).  Seems to get better with the 55, but it's still there for the first 5% of the throttle.

If you care about MPG's,.. (I sure do)... go with the 52.5...
Pilot has a big effect on mpg's...

As far a the hesitation... is your idle speed too low?...
Slight hesitation is normal... action/reaction takes a tiny second...
For a tiny fraction of time, when the throttle plate opens, you get the added air before it draws the fuel...
Normal,.. are you being too picky?... Grin...
If you work that out completely,.. you'll be too rich the rest of the time, and yer' mpg's will suck...
Tis' the nature of carburetion... Wink...

If I just put the smallest pressure on the throttle and hold that slow speed or downshift and then open the throttle just a crack,  the bike sputters and misses and lurches... its not a "hesitation"

Not sure... but if it's only subtle at a fraction... could your slide be sticking just a bit?...

What happens if you do the same test with the choke on the first click?

I'll try the choke out with the 52.5.  As I said, if I pull the choke on the 55, it's way too much gas
