carb problem.

My mate's problem is (we think) his carb, which is allowing fuel to run from the tank , into the engine, and out of the engine breather. Any ideas before we start a strip down?.
His bike is a 1993 model.
Another question, I have removed my tank a few times now without thinking of why the fuel does not run out when i lift it off. Why?

Float isnt seating the valve, could just need adjusted, petcock is leaking if fuel comes out with it in any position other than prime, when the engine isnt running,m

2 possibilities, bad float valve or bad petcock diaphragm

pull the vac line, shouldn't be any gas in it.

If you're using the OEM petcock and the lever is set to "ON" or "RES", then the petcock should not flow any gas unless a vacuum is applied to its vacuum port.

So, if you have an OEM petcock set to either "ON" or "RES," what you're seeing is normal OEM petcock behavior.
