headlight glare
07/09/12 at 18:18:50

I don't know if it's just the unique height that I am or what, but it seems like the glare off of the chrome headlight is always right in my eyes.  The only solution I have come up with is to paint it.  Is this a good idea or is there a better option?  I just hate to mess up a perfectly unscathed headlight that someone else might want.

You could get some black adhesive stuff from the sign store - and just cover up a portion of the chrome that glares.  Or maybe put a cool sticker on that spot......or a fuzzy stuffed animal companion!

I wouldnt paint it,A tool bag on the bars would cover it, & be useful.

Can you believe this guy!!!  Angry complains that his bike is too shiny!  Shocked

Seriously though, you could sell your perfectly good light to someone here that might need it, then buy an old rusty one off fleabay or something that actually needs to be painted.

Yep, that's been my solution, not to cover up the headlight glare but just because it's handy.

yea yea, I'm that blasphemer that doesn't actually like chrome.

That might not be a bad idea, just don't want to end up with a headlight that's all banged up and dented.  Still want it to look nice, just not so shiny.  I'm planning on painting my exhaust eventually.

I saw a pickup the other day that was 100% bedliner.
Id think a can of undercoating would be pretty tuff..
