Reply #1 - 07/04/12 at 21:54:43 shouldn't have any problems I've done 88 bottom to a 02 top frames are all the same I'd use one set of electrics or the other, there are some differences in plugs.

It seems cost effective to go with the $300 05 bottom end compared to repairing the 96 transmission as it needs a new main shaft and has a lot more miles on it.
