What would be compatibility issues of mating a 2005 Boulevard bottom end to a 1996 Savage top end and installing in a 2001 Savage rolling frame including 2001 electrics/CDI?

shouldn't have any problems
I've done 88 bottom to a 02 top
frames are all the same
I'd use one set of electrics or the other, there are some differences in plugs.

Cool, I'm going to give it a try. It seems cost effective to go with the $300 05 bottom end compared to repairing the 96 transmission as it needs a new main shaft and has a lot more miles on it.
