hello, so i posted earlier on the week about getting help on how to install new VM36 carb. I have few issues.
1- My throttle cable would not fit in the new carb. what kind of throttle cable do i need.
2- the new carb i got is complete do i have to change jets or anything.(I thought its made for the bike?)
I have been searching on this site and cannot find any post to help me with the issue for throttle cable.

As stated in the other post you made.  Lancer is the only one that has pre-made cables that will work.  He has them custom made to work with those style carbs.  Your only other option will be to go through another store that will make custom cables as there are no cables on the market that work with the Savage Throttle set and the VM style carbs.

Also as stated in the other post you will have to re-jet.  You have alot of work ahead of you to get it right with the carb you picked.

That carb is not made for the Savage at all,  it has to be made to fit it. We can help if you will listen and do what is told. If you don't plan on making bigger performance mods you will be far better off to sell it, and get the correct carb for your bike. Also VM carbs are alot more sensitive to tuning then the Stock carb is.  Meaning it will take alot more work to get it tuned to your bike properly and also if your constantly changing altitudes and weather conditions you will constantly be fiddling with the carb to keep your bike running at it's best.

I'm sorry for all the headache. my dad has been posting then asking him to help out so I end up posting same questions, without knowing that he had already post it. lancer has complete kits for the carb so i can make it fit. I will buy one and have the bike dyno tuned @local shop. We we not looking for more power.From what I read online people said to get the VM36 or VM38 carb. so I got the VM36 carb. The bike also has a aftermarket exhaust.

Have you got a fuel filter (i.e., clogged)?   It sounds like maybe a starvation problem.

This should probably be moved to "rubber side"...   moderators!!!

I'm talking about the FUEL filter, not the AIR filter.   If it's partially clogged, it may pass enough fuel for low speed, but cause starvation on high speed (requires more fuel flow).   It could even be the screen inside the tank, depending???

I remember who this is.  You are the one that was asking about the VM style carb.  Did you re-jet the carb, or just try tuning it with the air mixture screw?  If you didn't re-jet then that is where your problem is.  The VM carb is gonna take alot of playing with to get it tuned properly to the Savage's engine.  Once you have it jetted to where it seems to run o.k. then that is the time you need to start pulling the plug after some rides and read it to see which way you need to go for fine tuning it.  Right now it sounds like you are way lean on the main jet.
