Used to average 70+ mpg commuting (2 lane country roads, 35 mph) when mine was mostly stock. Saw a highest of 85 mpg on a ride from Memphis area to a rally in Sturgis MS.

Now lucky to break 30 mpg. 15" rise bars + 6'2"  230# rider = a really big sail.  Grin

I routinely get mid 60's mileage, completely stock.

Wow!   They have a Sturgis, MS?   So you can honestly brag that you've been to Sturgis.    Cool

Now come on WD 35mph 70mpg  Then you must have been going 25MPH to get 85 mpg How the heck long did it take you to get to Sturgis.

And we have a Sturgis Kentucky too! And there is a bike rally there called Little Sturgis!

By the way......I've put about 400 mies on my "new to me" 1996 LS560 and I'm getting around 62-65mpg running mostly state roads(55 mph)and interstate(65-75 mph). I won't complain!

Been to the big Sturgis thing too. They can keep it. Rode my 1938 Indian Chief. Had a factory 1928 Scout hillclimber in the gear truck that followed me. We may have stayed an hour, bunch of stick in the mud crybabies on Jap dirtbikes didn't want an antique on their playground. Don't get me started on the doctors, dentists and lawyers (weekend warriors) on their Evo bagger trailer queens.

The MS version was nice until the CMA weenies took over.

Haven't made the Kentucky one yet but it is on my list (unless it is "family friendly", tends to be too tame for my tastes).

I get 55-60 MPG going about 60-70 MPH during a group ride. Can't argue with that kind of mileage! Sure your pals may get ticked when you pull off every 120 miles to fuel up... but they get even more ticked when they see the low price on the pump display...
