I'd sure be curious about what the Shell station might want for a gallon.

Who besides WalMart will have Rotella?

I don't know where you live, but many of the auto stores have it, autozone, kragen, napa, etc.
It's marketed as a diesel oil so maybe a truck stop.

Verslagen,

I will prowl around some of the auto supply stores in North Texas and possibly the RV centers will have Rotella, since most of the big ones have diesel engines.

Everything is bigger in Texas. LOL    Smiley

I was hesitant to use Rotella as my bike came right off the showroom floor and I didn't want to chance any warranty issues.

Upon warranty expiration I put a versy on, and went Rotella.....

I could tell from the start the Rotella was better, as it quieted down some, shift better, and seemed to start easier with less choke, and I ride in the cold and this bike does not like cold.....

Are you the same RayDawg from Buell Riders Online?

I am not going to wait for the warranty to expire I am going to switch to Rotella at 600 miles.

A suggestion, if a new bike, Switch to Rotella now, and add Red-Line.
(Zinc additive). Long term: Your bike will thank you.
Short Term: Ah Heck do it anyway, the next owner will thank you.

If a dealer says changing oil, 'voids', warranty.
That is pure, Bravo Serra !!!!!!!@

If you have a, 'Fleet-Farm', or, 'Farm-Fleet', close.
They always have it, and many times at 12.95 per gal.

MN,

Where can I purchase the  Red-Line product that I see mentioned in several places?

How much Red-Line should I add to an oil change?

Go To:
http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1344471565

Then to:
http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1345080430
for mix ratios.   (New Engine More)
Do NOT, use a high detergent oil, it 'scrubs' away the benefit of a high Zinc content.

Purchase places info on both sites.
I get mine through:

Oh,  Moderators, perhaps add the link:
http://www.jegs.com/i/Red+Line+Oil/816/81403/10002/-1

To the 'Oil Additive' link.
In my experience,
I think it is a very good place to buy from.

MN,

Thank you for the links and the purchasing tip. They ship FedEx free, it would be hard to beat that.

When you only used 2 oz. of the ZDDP additive every 6 months....you will find the bottle will last 4 years!  However.....once the Redline ZDDP additive is opened - it seems to allow an off-white substance to settle in the bottom of the bottle.  No amount of shaking the bottle will make the goo come off the bottom.

I found that if put the bottle in my Ultrasonic cleaner in a bath of hot water, the stuff would go back into solution.  You might also have luck just putting the bottle in a bath of hot water to warm the ZDDP additive up....and then shaking the bottle.
