Dyna Beads

Anybody using Dyna Beads to balance their tires. I recently mounted a new set of tires for my wifes' '98 Le Sabre & put 3 ounces of these in each one rather than have them balanced. Been a little over a month & I've not felt any vibration at all. Momma is HAPPY, & we all know what that means! Grin

So I mounted a new rear tire for the Savage & added 2 ounces & so far no shake from that one either. Encouraged by this sucess, I added Dyna Beads to the tires on my V-Star 950, took off the wheel weights & went for a ride. I ran her up to 90 mph, pulled in the clutch & coasted down to 50, smooth as silk. Smiley

The cost of the beads is about the same as conventional balancing & doesn't have to be rebalanced for the life of the tire. Cool

At this time, I don't think I'll ever go back to conventional balancing methods. Wink

We had the same conversation on my Jeep forum. Some people swore by them, some at them. I have no opinion. For once.  Shocked

I almost bought some to put in trailer tires that were wearing funny due to an imbalance - but the local tire shop whom we give lots of business balanced them for free.

Here is the link I saved:

Those are pretty fascinating. Are they available online?
The website you posted seems to be for wholesale only, unless I missed something...
I did try the dealer search, but everything near me is an hour away or more...

Interesting, cheaper than the cost of a static balancer.

I heard about them on the Yamaha Motorcycle forum. I never tried them until now. Bought some at first from a local bike shop for a friends' bike after putting on a new tire. Smiley

I then bought them online from the source in the first link already provided. I believe they'll sell to anyone. Cool

Advantage is not wasting time balancing & rebalancing. I've had them in my 950s' tires for about 2k now & it still seems smooth. Grin

I think I'll keep them...... Wink

Might not play well with Slime or Fix-A-Flat... just a thought.

I sure it wouldn't, but prior experience with those products has led me to never use them again. Crap did more damage than good. Huh

Whoa! I've never heard of these things before! But I do know I hate blowing money on wheel balancing at the auto tire place and still not being happy with the results. I think I may give this a shot sometime.

I have no personal experience with either but I've heard stories from folks who love Slime and other stories from those who hate it.  Might be another poll topic in there somewhere...

One of the things that I don't understand is why or how the beads help balance?  It seems to me that anything inside the tube would migrate TOWARD the heavy point, not away from it.   Maybe there is a dynamic that I missing?  It would be interesting to place a wheel on a spin balancer, acquire a reading, then add the beads and spin up again to see if it solves the imbalance.

According to their website, it works in just the opposite way. I can't begin to understand the dynamics myself, but here is their explanantion:

Quick question, maybe dumb question!

This will have no use on the poke wheels right, as those use inner tubes?
