California Gender:	Re: Rev Limiter Reply #2 - 06/04/12 at 17:53:13 Unless you got some performance upgrades... winding it out in too low or out of gear... going downhill... with a tailwind... can't be done. you loose power at the higher rpm's most people complain about it being freaking buzzy at 75 you'll be doing a ton to hit red line. I think you'll back off before then.

You might be able to blow it up in neutral,... if you want to... ... but, I expect valves might just float before you got there... (I ain't gonna' try it, just to find out) ...

On my speedometer at an indicated 95mph it does 6,500 rpm on my tachometer. It can't do it every day and not everywhere, but on that nice flat long piece of smooth concrete superslab I use for test runs on a day when it's nice and warm and no wind. Like I said, the conditions have to be right.
In second gear I once managed to get it to 6,700 rpm briefly which was a a little over 55 mph. But it's pointless to go that far on a stock motor, as it just struggles then. It is better to shift just a little over 6,000 rpm when in a hurry.
