1) Properly installed and used... no.
I've seen plenty of stock cams worn out before their time for many reasons.
Lack of oil, improper adjustment, extensive idling on the side stand, etc.
2&3) yes, it's the CR that requires premium or regular.
4) cam can be done in 1 day, piston will require taking the engine out of frame, allow 3 days.
If you've never done it before, double the estimated time if you have all parts on hand.
And you should allow time for striped bolts.
