I won't buy light duty mc tires again, simply because of how I ride. I got a decent service life from the Cheng Shin I had on the rear of the bike solely because it was backup for my Vulcan. Since it is now my primary bike (or will be if I ever finish putting it back together) it is getting a VS800 spec Dunlop. Same size, heavier construction. Even with the plan to shave the sidewalls (I hate raised white letter tires) down to whitewalls.

Even fully trimmed out like mine, the Savage still weighs less than an Intruder.

FWIW, the tire dealer we ordered Dunlops for the 1500 Drifter here  said Shinkos have a maybe 4K mile life. And that was in Savage sizes.

All right, time for a vote:

Tire paint or Port-a-walls?

Undecided

I've heard pros and cons of both...  Embarrassed

HAHAHA  Grin

Neither, or just whitewalls in general?

Typically my philosphy would be no Portawalls or paint, but I'm at that desperation point now.  Embarrassed

Paint. Easier to touch up paint than to replace a busted plastic piece.

That's the way I'm leaning. Pics don't look bad & they won't come flying off!  Wink
