Whitewall Tires

I'm having trouble finding some whitewall tires that will fit the Savage properly.  Can anybody recommend some?  It seems the Dunlop and Avon are discontinued...?  Sad

Yeah, I went through every whitewall tire option on that site.  There's a front tire that will fit (Avon AV71F).  But I can't find any rear tires to fit.  The only 15" tires I found were far too wide (180mm).

I definitely DO NOT want to do tire paint.  Shocked

Any other suggestions where to look for tires, or known existing options?  Otherwise, are there easy wheel swaps that will get me more common size options?  Embarrassed

if you go to 130/90-16, then you'll find dozens of choices (it's a Harlet standard)
A gs550 is a direct swap, but most are alloy wheels, not many are spoked.

Thanks for the suggestion.  Yeah, I saw the 16s were way more plentiful than the 15s, that's for sure.  I definitely want to keep the spoke wheel look though.

If anybody can suggest another spoke rear wheel or rear whitewall tire, I'd really appreciate it.  Cool

Yeah, I saw the Shinkos too, but

1.  I don't know anything about that brand.  Are they any good?

and

2.  They still don't offer the correct size for the rear.  I'd have to switch to a 16" rim to work, since as far as I know a 150/90-15 is going to be both too wide and too tall for the rear.

:'(

Any other 15" whitewall tire or 16" spoke wheel options?  Undecided

Be prepared to replace the stock fender bolts with low profile button heads, and possibly do some grinding on the swingarm. :'(  And because each tire manufacturer is slightly different, it still might not fit. Sad

Yeah, hopefully it's not too bad.  From the various threads I read, it seems at best there's no/minimal problem, and at worst bolt change and grinding.  I hadn't actually heard of that size not fitting, so hopefully I don't encounter that problem...  Embarrassed

SALB says that 150/90 size rubbed above 60mph, but a quick grind on the weld fixed the problem.
